Utility-scale solar is being developed by UGEC and will either be a standalone project or be alongside it’s battery solution. Due to the common goal for fossil fuels to be used less and from the rise of popularity of electrical vehicles, within the next 30 years, in line with government policy, the capacity of Solar will need to be increased substantially.

By using batteries UGEC can store critical excess power that is created, especially when weather permits that is then able to be deployed throughout the UK when shortages are being experienced therefore balancing the electricity network. As electrical vehicles become more popular and in demand, Battery storage also plays an important part in aiding the UK’s transition.
